Have you ever seen the engine bay on a V6?
Compared to the four cylinders they are nightmares to work on. The running costs are way higher in the long term . Depending on the condition of the car a large service might just be an economic Totalschaden. 2.2 is best engine.

I've seen those V6s in 205s. 'crowded' would be an understatement, although you could say the same thing for mine now due to the turbo plumbing. Anyway, I do see your point. The 2.2 seems to be the best compromise for the 406.

Shame they are so rare.

I saw one in a junkyard once. It looked fine, but it turned out to have something like 500k on the odometer.
